Uplift Your Community
We're here to sustain for future generations, an Iroquois Haudenosaunee principal, which is rooted in making sustainable decisions that'll impact the next 7 generations. Rooted in Rising Backyard Garden is an urban backyard garden that empowers our community to cultivate food sovereignty, end racism, and injustices within our local food system through land stewardship practices.
Our Garden Guardians (volunteers) will learn indigenous practices in restoring their connection to this land and develop lifelong skills in land stewardship. The strongest force behind our mission is village mentality and as a village, we believe we can assess our own individual pains and traumas as we steward the land to heal. We are rooted in rising together.
"National Ag. Science Workshop Days
These workshops are focused on educating our little garden guardians on agricultural and science based activities in a fun and interactive way. These activities are mobile and can be done anywhere. This program is geared towards preschool-8th graders. If you'd like these activities for your kids at your organizations and schools, we can bring them to you!

These are our community work days and celebrations where all our garden guardians come together and work on various and ongoing sustainable projects in the garden.
